Kshar Sutra

Kshara Sutra treatment is an Ayurvedic Parasurgical method and time-tested Ayurvedic way to Anorectal disorders.
It is a safe, sure, and cost-effective treatment for fistula-in-ano, hemorrhoids, and other sinus diseases.

Patient has to do the pre-procedures like different type of lab tests first.
Patient is kept NBM for 10-12 hours (Nothing by Mouth) till the procedure.
Xylocaine test is doneif needed.
Patient is given Niruha basti (enema) for cleansing his bowels.
Patient is given spinal anaesthesia by our Anaesthetist.
Lord’s dilatation is done.
Pedicles are separated and single single is holded with force and its roots are tied with Kshar Sutra
All the pedicles are tied at the roots separately.
After few days its blood supply cuts and the pile mass starts drying.
The pile mass sheds off after few days.
As the root is permanently damaged with the Kshar Sutra, there are no chances of recurrence.

The Kshar sutra’s are the caustic threads and has qualities/properties – as in anti-inflammatory, Anti Sloughing and even has properties of chemical curetting.
The kshar sutra is in direct contact with the pedicle or tract in case of fistula so it chemically curettes the tract and sloughs out the epithelial living and hence forth it cuts the pedicle or allow the fistula tract to heal and naturally collapse.

Its anti-bacterial too, so it doesn’t allow the multiplication of bacteria when it is present.
As its PH is alkaline in nature, it does not allow rectal pathogens to invade the cavity.
In fistula Kshar Sutra thread heals the tract by cutting and realing technique. By one means the thread cuts down the tract by either side and facilitates the damage of pus from both ends and at same time heals the tract also.

Performed under spinal anesthesia, if tract is very small can be done in local anesthesia
30-45 minutes for whole procedure.
Minimal bed rest after procedure.
Can resume to work within 3-5 days.
No incontinence issue.
Recurrence rate is equal to 0.
